Do I have to pay anything to list my products?
No. Free listings cost nothing — ever. You can build a full shop page, add a direct link, and notify subscribers about new drops without paying a cent.
How does the 8% marketplace commission work?
When a buyer discovers you through Koti search or homepage and places an order, Koti takes 8% from that transaction. When the same buyer comes back through your direct link, that order is 0% commission.
What's the difference between Marketplace and Marketplace Pro?
Both let you accept orders through Koti with the same 8% / 0% structure. Marketplace Pro adds $29/month for unlimited AI photo cleanup, unlimited AI pro product shots, unlimited AI descriptions and social content, plus featured placement in search.
Are there any other fees?
Stripe payment processing (roughly 2.9% + 30¢) applies to every paid order, just like anywhere else online. Koti doesn't add anything on top of that.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade from Free to Marketplace, or to Marketplace Pro, at any time from your dashboard. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Do I need a permit to sell on Koti?
Yes — Koti is built around state cottage food laws. We support Class A (direct-to-consumer) and Class B (wholesale + direct) permits in all 50 states. We'll walk you through what's required for your state during signup.
Who keeps the funds — Koti or me?
You do. Koti uses Stripe Connect, so payouts go directly from the buyer to your Stripe account. Our commission is deducted automatically at the time of the sale — Koti never holds your money.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No contracts. Cancel anytime. Free Listing is free forever, and Marketplace Pro is month-to-month with no cancellation fees.
